Blackburn Rovers are reportedly poised to land Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing in an £1.5m deal after the 24-year-old fell down the pecking order at Anfield.

Blackburn Rovers are poised to land Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing, according to a report.

The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield under manager Brendan Rodgers and spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers.

Rovers are looking to add to their midfield this summer after losing Danny Murphy and are willing to stump up £1.5m to sign Spearing, but they may have to sell defender Martin Olsson to raise the funds, reports The Mirror.

Spearing made 39 appearances for Bolton last season in the Championship.
