Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he will "keep an eye" on the fitness of striker Daniel Sturridge.
The Northern Irishman has revealed that the 24-year-old joined up with the England squad for their two international friendlies already nursing a thigh problem.
"He went to England with an injury," Rodgers said in a press conference. "He's had a dead leg for three to four weeks. We'll have to keep an eye on him."
The Reds are preparing to take on local rivals Everton in the first Merseyside derby of the season at Goodison Park on Saturday.
