Loris Karius: 'I do not feel like I am on trial at Liverpool'

Loris Karius dismisses speculation suggesting that he is "on trial" at Liverpool and stresses that he does not "listen to what is on the outside".

Loris Karius has dismissed speculation suggesting that he is "on trial" at Liverpool, and stressed that he does not "listen to what is on the outside".

The former Germany Under-21 international has established himself as the Reds' first-choice goalkeeper in lieu of Simon Mignolet.

However, media reports continue to speculate on the future of Liverpool's two main custodians, as well as suggesting that new arrivals could be on the horizon.

Speaking after his side's 0-0 draw at Everton, in which he produced a smart save to tip Yannick Bolasie's curling shot around the post, Karius gave his thoughts on the game and on his future.

"I thought we did really well first half, at the end we were hanging on a little but it's normal, we played an intense game," the 24-year-old told Sky Sports News. "I think it's a fair result.

"I was just happy I got a fingertip on [Bolasie's effort], it's good to get a save like this but the most important was to get the clean sheet. The back four was new, so that's really pleasing for us.

"I don't feel like I am on trial. If I believe everything I read then we are going to have 10 keepers at the club next season. I don't listen to what is on the outside."

Karius has made 23 Reds appearances this season, shipping just 18 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets.
