The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Liverpool eye possible reinforcements.
Jurgen Klopp's champions have not been particularly busy during recent windows, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from linking them with additions.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.
Thursday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:
AC Milan among clubs interested in Liverpool's Marko Grujic?
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for a wide range of clubs, including AC Milan.
Having fallen out of favour at Anfield, Grujic has spent the last two campaigns on loan at Hertha Berlin, contributing nine goals from 51 appearances in the Bundesliga.
However, despite the 24-year-old's impressive form in Germany's capital, it has not been enough to convince Jurgen Klopp that the Serbian has a future on Merseyside.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Serie A newcomers Benevento are the favourites to land the player's services, initially on loan before having the option to push through a permanent deal.
However, Milan and Atalanta BC are also said to be among the clubs who are monitoring the situation, aware that the Premier League champions are keen to get Grujic off their wage bill.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt have been linked with the former Red Star Belgrade youngster in the past.
Liverpool yet to make move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara
Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Liverpool have yet to make a formal approach for midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
The Reds are the rumoured frontrunners to sign the Spain international following recent confirmation that Bayern will let him leave this summer.
Thiago is believed to be available for a cut-price £27m given that he is into the last year of his contract, with Bayern not prepared to let the 29-year-old leave for free in less than a year's time.
However, while Rummenigge still expects Thiago to move on before the transfer window closes, he says that no offers have been tabled by the Premier League champions for the former Barcelona ace.
"We always read a lot about Liverpool, but they haven't contacted us yet," he told Bild.
"Yesterday we had the meeting with our employees and his whole family was there, and they wandered around the square in great nostalgia [at the Allianz Arena], I would say.
"It looked a lot like goodbye, as if he had made up his mind. I don't know and he doesn't know yet either [where his future lies], because we all focused on this Champions League final.
"I think we will have to wait what the following days will bring."
Thiago played 40 times for Bayern in their treble-winning 2019-20 campaign, which culminated in last weekend's 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
