Liverpool will reportedly be without Thiago Alcantara for Wednesday night's Champions League opener against Ajax.
The 29-year-old put in a man-of-the-match display on his full debut for the team during Saturday's Merseyside derby against Everton.
However, the Spain international was on the end of a red-card challenge from Richarlison in the closing stages of that contest and finished the game while carrying an injury.
Jurgen Klopp raised concern over the summer signing after the match, and the Liverpool Echo reports that Thiago is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
However, while Wednesday's match against Ajax is expected to come too soon for Thiago, the report also claims that the injury is not as bad as first feared and that the playmaker should be ready to return to the fold sooner rather than later.
The Premier League champions also saw another key player injured in the derby, with Virgil van Dijk facing the prospect of missing the rest of the season following Jordan Pickford's challenge on him in the penalty area.
