Mohamed Salah injured in Egypt win

Liverpool are left sweating on the fitness of Mohamed Salah after the attacker picked up "a muscular injury" in Egypt's 4-1 win over Swaziland.

Liverpool will be sweating on the fitness of Mohamed Salah after the attacker picked up "a muscular injury" in Egypt's 4-1 win over Swaziland on Friday.

Salah was on the scoresheet for his country in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, but picked up a injury in the latter stages of the match, and despite returning to the field following a period of treatment, did not finish the contest.

Egypt assistant Hany Ramzy has confirmed that the 26-year-old picked up a "muscular" issue, although the problem is not believed to be serious.

"[The] initial diagnosis of the medical staff of [the] Egypt national team is that Salah suffered a muscular injury," Ramzy told beIN Sports. "He will be examined to determine the details, but in my opinion it is not serious."

Salah has scored three times and registered two assists in 11 appearances for Liverpool this season.

The Reds are back in action after the international break away to Huddersfield Town.
