Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. West Ham United

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League encounter at West Ham United.

Liverpool make the trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Wednesday evening looking to further extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings.

The Merseyside giants currently hold a 16-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City, with this fixture representing their game in hand over last season's champions.

However, Jurgen Klopp has a number of selection dilemmas to contend with as they prepare to take on the Hammers in England's capital.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this fixture.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: January 29 (vs. West Ham)

Having missed out on the squad to face Shrewsbury Town, it remains to be seen when Shaqiri will be given the green light to return from a calf injury. Klopp may opt to hold fire until the FA Cup replay with the League One outfit next month.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Southampton)

Milner is set to miss out until early February with the club keen not to rush him back from his thigh injury. Despite Klopp's insistence that the club's academy players will face Shrewsbury, it may represent the perfect opportunity to ease the veteran back into action.

Nathaniel Clyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Clyne is still recovering from the ACL injury which he sustained over the summer and currently does not have an expected return date. However, with clubs being linked with a loan move for the right-back, he may not be far away from being back in contention.

Sadio Mane

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Southampton)

Liverpool are yet to divulge when Mane will return to action after being substituted with a thigh issue against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week. There is enough strength in depth that Klopp will not feel the need to take any risks with the Senegal international.

Adam Lallana

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: January 29 (vs. West Ham)

Lallana has been absent from the squad for the last two games due to illness. The midfielder will be assessed during the early part of this week before a decision is made regarding his participation.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspensions issues ahead of the trip to London.
