Lloyd James fires Leyton Orient to League One summit

Lloyd James fires two penalties as Leyton Orient move top of League One with a 2-0 win over Swindon at Brisbane Road.

Lloyd James struck two penalties as Leyton Orient moved top of League One with a 2-0 victory over Swindon Town at Brisbane Road this afternoon.

The 26-year-old converted from 12 yards in both halves as the Londoners move ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers on goals scored following their 3-0 win over promotion rivals Brentford at Griffin Park.

Orient's forwards David Mooney and Chris Dagnall combined well in the early stages to fashion their team's first sight at goal, with the latter firing against the post after latching on to a well-weighted cross from his strike partner.

Moses Odubajo thrashed wide of the mark before making amends for his earlier miss by drawing a foul from Jake Bidwell in the area with three minutes remaining in the half.

James stepped up to the mark and slotted the resulting penalty beyond goalkeeper Tyrell Belford, and kept his composure from the spot once again on 52 minutes to double the lead after Mooney was hauled down in the box.

Russell Slade's men thought they had put the result beyond doubt later in the half but Dagnall's header was chalked off for committing a foul in the build-up.
