Jamie Vardy: 'I didn't think about record'

Jamie Vardy says that he was not focused on breaking the Premier League record after scoring in his 11th consecutive match.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has said that he tried not to think about breaking a Premier League record ahead of Leicester City's match against Manchester United.

The 28-year-old scored in his 11th consecutive match during Leicester's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

"The main thing was the performance, we put a shift in and a point was the fair result. We have a lot of pace in the team and counter attacking is a big advantage for us. We have come straight from a corner. It's unbelievable, I got a bit carried away with myself," Vardy told Sky Sports News.

"There has been a lot of focus on me, I have kept my head down and not tried to think too much about it. I knew it would be a battle against Chris Smalling and it was an entertaining one for the neutrals.

"We are disappointed in the way we conceded the goal. We are taking each game as it comes and now look forward to Swansea next week."

The striker leads the Premier League goalscoring charts with 14 goals from 14 matches.
