Leicester City plan Lee Clark approach

Leicester City will make an official approach to make Lee Clark their new manager, according to a report.

Leicester City will make an official approach to discuss their vacant manager's position with Lee Clark this week, according to The Mirror.

The Championship outfit, who are looking for a new boss following the sacking of Sven-Goran Eriksson last week, are believed to have identified Huddersfield's Clark at the ideal candidate.

The 39-year-old has revealed that he is committed to the Terriers, although he refused to rule out a switch to the King Power Stadium.

"I can't speak about whether there is anything in these stories because I've had no contact," said the 39-year-old. "But if I did, the first person I would pick up the phone to, within seconds, would be chairman Dean Hoyle to explain the situation.

"I know I am a lucky man as manager to have a man like Dean backing me and that might not be so easy to walk away from.

"He has become a good friend as well as my boss, and I've got too much respect for him not to do it that way but there are many factors before we even reach that stage."

Clark has been in charge of Huddersfield since December 2008.
