Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones has expressed his fury after goalkeeper Chris Kirkland was attacked by a Leeds United fan during Friday's 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.
Kirkland was hit by the supporter after Michael Tonge had scored the visitors' equaliser in the 77th minute.
"They are vile animals, whatever you want to call them," Jones told Sky Sports News.
"You talk about racism in the game, but then [Leeds manager Neil Warnock at the end of the game] waves at them, that is something else.
"I thought that had gone away from the game, otherwise they'll keep doing that. That you need to sort, and quickly."
Leeds United were quick to issue an apology following the end of the match.
