Ipswich Town striker DJ Campbell has conceded that he has doubts as to how long Paul Jewell will be in charge of the club.

The Tractor Boys are currently in the Championship's relegation zone and as a result reports have claimed that manager Jewell is close to being relieved of his duties.

Despite the pressure that is on Jewell, centre-forward Campbell has insisted that he had no hesitation in joining the club on a three-month loan basis last week.

"I am aware of the pressure on the manager. That is part and parcel of football," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "At QPR, one minute the manager was there and then the next he's gone. You just have to get on with it and be as professional as possible.

"The situation didn't put me off coming. Paul Jewell is a great manager and a good person, someone who has been about and done good things over his career.

"But as I say, this is football. If he is the manager then great, if he's not then we just have to do the best we can. But hopefully he will be."

Campbell found the net during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City.
