Two goals at the stroke of half time have given Blackpool a fighting chance against Huddersfield Town as the two sides head into the break at 3-2.
The hosts started brightly and took the lead after just four minutes through Grant Holt, whose bullet header at the far post proved too much for Blackpool goalkeeper Joe Lewis.
Powell's in-form Terriers doubled their advantage in the 11th minute when Harry Bunn turned in Sean Scannell's pass after good work by Tommy Smith.
Scannell was involved again as Bunn helped himself to his second and Huddersfield's third, pulling the ball back for the midfielder to rifle home and dump more misery on lowly Blackpool.
However, Jose Riga's men refused to lie down and they pulled one back on the stroke of half time when Tony McMahon curled in a free kick.
Huddersfield, who looked out of sight just minutes earlier, face a nervy second period as Donervon Daniels added a second for the Seasiders in first-half stoppage time.
