Dynamo, Rapids play out goalless draw
Neither side can find a breakthrough in the MLS clash between the Houston Dynamo and the Colorado Rapids as the teams play out a goalless draw.

The Houston Dynamo and the Colorado Rapids played out a goalless draw in their MLS clash at the BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Rapids were the first team to threaten as Marcelo Sarvas found space in the area, but his strike was well saved by Tyler Deric.

Colorado continued to threaten in the first half and neat play outside the box created another opening for Sarvas as he was played through on goal, only to be denied by Deric once again as the keeper tipped his effort over the bar.

The visitors had another opening just before the break when Dillon Powers teed up Gabriel Torres, who fired a powerful strike at goal which was beaten away by Deric.

In the second half, Leonel Miranda raided down the right and managed to cut the ball back to Brad Davis in the box, but his drive was well blocked by Bobby Burling.

Juan Ramirez almost found a way through the Dynamo defence as he attempted to speed down the middle, but he was stopped in his tracks by an excellent tackle by David Horst.

Houston made one late push to try to find a winner as Alexander Lopez slipped a through ball into the path of Zach Steinberger, but the midfielder skewed his strike past the post when well placed as both teams were forced to settle for a point.
