Hibernian are through to the third round of the Scottish League Cup after a narrow 1-0 victory over Stranraer at Easter Road.
Hibs could have taken the lead in the second minute, but Fraser Fyvie had an early strike well beaten away by Stranraer stopper Conor Brennan.
John McGinn was also denied at the near post, before Jason Cummings fizzed an effort marginally wide of the target.
Midway through the first half, Brennan had to be alert to tip a Fyvie effort onto the crossbar. Stranraer almost snatched a shock lead through Craig Malcolm, but his volley was saved by Mark Oxley.
Shortly after the restart, Liam Fontaine headed over from a good position, but in the 54th minute, Hibs went in front when Scott Rumsby turned a Fyvie cross into his own net.
Three minutes later, McGinn nearly doubled the lead with a low strike but Brennan kept his side in the game, and they almost netted a late equaliser through Andy Stirling, but he blazed his one-on-one effort into the stands.
In injury time, Rumsby had one last chance to atone for his earlier mistake, but after his strike went wide of the post, Hibs were able to celebrate their progress through to the next round.
