Hertha Berlin sporting director Arne Friedrich has confirmed that the club are considering a move for out-of-contract midfielder Mario Gotze.
The German World Cup winner has been without a club since leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.
Sevilla and Fiorentina have previously been tipped to move for the 28-year-old, but Bayern Munich pulled out of the running last week.
Gotze could yet stay in the Bundesliga with Hertha, though, as the capital club have teased that a move may be on the cards.
"He is of course a name that we have dealt with," Friedrich told DAZN when asked about his side's interest in the former Bayern player.
Gotze appeared 21 times for Dortmund in all competitions last season.
