National League roundup: Cheltenham Town hit seven against Halifax Town

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's fixtures in the National League as Cheltenham Town continue their recent good form with a 7-1 win at Halifax Town.

Four goals from Jack Munns have helped Cheltenham Town to a 7-1 victory away at Halifax Town.

Munns scored twice in added-on time to cap a stunning performance from the visitors, but Gary Johnson's men have been kept off the top of the National League standings after Forest Green Rovers drew with Grimsby Town.

Jon-Paul Pittman had given Grimsby the lead, but Jon Parkin equalised soon afterwards to earn Rovers a share of the spoils.

Two goals apiece from Andy Mangan and Jonathon Margetts helped Tranmere Rovers to a 4-0 win against Bromley, but Gateshead have dropped to fourth spot after slipping to a 3-2 defeat at home to Dover Athletic, who complete the top five.

Braintree Town are in sixth position after goals from Kenny Davis and Michael Cheek earned the club a 2-0 win away at Eastleigh.

Wrexham have dropped out of the top five after they lost 3-2 at near neighbours Chester FC, with John Rooney, Tom Shaw and Kane Richards getting on the scoresheet for the hosts.

At the other end of the table, Kidderminster Harriers are still searching for their first win after they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Welling United.

Torquay United have dropped to third-bottom after losing 2-0 at home to Aldershot Town, while Southport complete the drop zone despite a double from Cole Stockton earning the North-West team a 2-1 success at Woking.
