Team News: Oldham Athletic without injured Jonathan Forte

Oldham Athletic forward Jonathan Forte misses the trip to League One strugglers Gillingham through injury.

Oldham Athletic will be without their top scorer Jonathan Forte for their visit to Gillingham after the forward failed to shake off a groin injury.

Latics boss Lee Johnson has decided against offering a first start to Blackpool loanee Jacob Mellis, who is named among the substitutes.

Instead, Amari Morgan-Smith and Dominic Poleon will lead the line for Oldham, who start the game in 13th place, but just two points off the playoff positions.

Gillingham full back Joe Martin has recovered from a calf problem and is named among the substitutes.

The Kent outfit, who ended a run of three straight defeats with a dramatic 3-1 win against Coventry City last weekend, are without Amine Linganzi and Aaron Morris (both hamstring) for the visit of the Latics.

Defender Joe Hare suffered a knee ligament injury playing for the reserves in midweek and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Gillingham: Nelson, Hoyte, Ehmer, Egan, Garmston, Loft, Hessenthaler, Pritchard, Dack, McDonald, Marquis

Oldham Athletic: Rachubka, Brown, Elokobi, Kelly, Jones, Poleon, Philliskirk, Winchester, J Wilson, B Wilson, Morgan-Smith
