Wesley Sneijder says that Galatasary deserve their place in the Champions League quarter-finals following their win over Schalke 04 this evening.

Wesley Sneijder has said that Galatasaray deserved their 4-3 aggregate win over Schalke 04 in the Champions League this evening.

The Turkish side came from behind at the Veltins Arena to win 3-2 on the night to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The midfielder told reporters after the match: "We definitely deserved it. We made a lot of mistakes in the second half and dropped back and they made it difficult.

"We wanted to go for the third, but we didn't do it and they kept pushing. I think Schalke played well but with all the team spirit [we had], it's a deserved victory."

The draw for the last eight takes place on Friday.
