A last-minute goal from Gareth McAuley earns West Bromwich Albion a 1-1 draw against Fulham in the Premier League this afternoon.

A last-minute equaliser from Gareth McAuley gave West Bromwich Albion a 1-1 draw against Fulham in the Premier League, after Steve Sidwell had put Martin Jol's side into the lead.

Fulham had the first chance of the game when Pajtim Kasami clipped in a cross towards Dimitar Berbatov that was headed away by Martin Olsson, but only to Bryan Ruiz, whose volley from the edge of the area flashed wide.

Albion showed promise on the counter and Victor Anichebe caused problems for Fulham by using his strength to shrug off Philippe Senderos, only for Brede Hangeland to come across and block the striker's shot.

Fulham went ahead from a corner as Senderos won the knockdown, leaving Sidwell to fire into the ground and past Boaz Myhill in the West Brom goal.

Jol's side could have gone two ahead soon after but Berbatov headed wide. The Bulgarian was involved again and had the ball in the net this time, only for the goal to be ruled offside.

They were nearly made to pay on the stroke of half time when Anichebe headed towards goal, but Berbatov made a vital interception to hook the ball clear.

The Baggies wasted a major opportunity to respond in the second half, when Nicolas Anelka unleashed a snap shot, which was superbly saved by goalkeeper David Stockdale.

Fulham thought that they had extended their lead in the final 10 minutes, but Hugo Rodallega was flagged offside as he followed up from Ruiz's shot.

Yet West Brom were to have the last laugh as McAuley met a well-delivered corner from Chris Brunt to level the scores in the dying minutes of the game.
