Franck Ribery named in France World Cup squad

France boss Didier Deschamps includes Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery in his 23-man World Cup squad.

France boss Didier Deschamps has included Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery in his 23-man World Cup squad.

Ribery's participation in Brazil had been doubted in recent days after sitting out Les Bleus' warm-up friendly with Paraguay on Sunday due to a back injury.

However, fears over the severity of the injury have been allayed after the 31-year-old was included by Deschamps, along with nine Premier League players.

Hugo Lloris, Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Debuchy, Patrice Evra, Mamadou Sakho, Moussa Sissoko, Loic Remy and Olivier Giroud have also been named in Deschamps's final cut.
