Chris Lucketti appointed caretaker manager of Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town promote assistant manager Chris Lucketti to the role of caretaker manager after the dismissal of former boss Graham Alexander on Wednesday.

League One side Fleetwood Town have promoted assistant manager Chris Lucketti to caretaker manager after the dismissal of Graham Alexander on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old played with and worked alongside Alexander at Preston North End before joining him at Highbury.

A statement on the official Fleetwood website confirmed that Lucketti will take charge of Saturday's league clash away at Scunthorpe United.

The former Preston, Bury, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United centre-back will be assisted in the dugout by Barry Nicholson.
