Everton reportedly enter the race to sign 20-year-old Brazil international striker Gabriel Barbosa from Inter Milan.

Everton have reportedly entered the race to sign Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa this summer.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from San Siro during the current transfer window, having struggled to make an impact since joining from Santos last summer.

The Brazilian - nicknamed Gabigol - failed to make a single Serie A start for Inter last season and managed just one goal in his nine substitute appearances.

A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with the youngster, including the likes of Leicester City, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City, Southampton, Swansea City and Liverpool.

The Liverpool Echo now reports that Everton have also expressed an interest as they look to replace Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees have already signed Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez as part of their summer spending spree, but manager Ronald Koeman is understood to be looking for more alternatives to make up for the loss of Lukaku's goals.

Gabriel is keen on a move away from Inter, meanwhile, as he looks to kickstart his career in Europe having developed a reputation as one of Brazilian football's brightest young players during his time at Santos.
