Everton and Blackburn hold each other to a 1-1 draw in the game at Goodison Park.

Everton and Blackburn shared the points at Goodison Park after an even contest between the two sides.

Blackburn started the game on top with Everton holding out in the first ten minutes. Scott Dann's early chance was well blocked by the Everton defenders. In the 13th minute, Rovers put the ball in the back of the net but it was rightly ruled out for offside.

Everton began to ease into the game, however there were no real clear-cut chances for either side as they battled to gain an advantage. The breakthrough finally came in the 24th minute when Marouane Fellaini's effort was saved before falling to Tim Cahill who smashed it in from four yards. There was a touch of controversy about the goal as it looked as though Fellaini eased the ball to Cahill with his hand.

Blackburn tried to get back into the game and nearly did so through a David Dunn shot that hit the post in the 37th minute. Everton held on though and went in at half-time 1-0 up.

Rovers came out looking much more assured on the ball and got a breakthrough as David Goodwillie equalised in the 72nd minute.

As the second half wore on, Everton started to come close with Cahill hitting the bar and Fellaini seeing his effort cleared off the line. Blackburn pushed forward for a winner too, but both sides seemed to cancel each other out.
