Phil Jagielka happy with Everton form

Phil Jagielka says that Everton are focusing on their own form rather than worry about that of their rivals for Champions League qualification.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has said that he and his teammates are concentrating only on how they are doing rather than focusing on other teams.

Roberto Martinez has guided the Toffees to fifth in the Premier League, four points adrift of leaders Arsenal after 16 games having only lost to Manchester City so far this season.

A busy festive period is fast approaching, starting with a trip to Swansea City on Sunday, followed by games against Sunderland (home), Southampton (home) and Stoke City (away).

"We had a pretty decent start to the season, we've carried that on, we've got a tough run of fixtures now where hopefully we'll pick up quite a few points over Christmas and keep ourselves in the running," he told Sky Sports News.

"The league has been quite strange this year. There's been a lot of teams beating other teams by some crazy scorelines but for us it's all about how we do.

"At the moment we're in pretty decent form and we've got some really vital games especially at home over the festive period."

The Blues have won three of their last four league matches.
