Phil Jagielka accepts Everton need to improve

Everton defender Phil Jagielka accepts that his side need to turn around their poor run of form quickly.

Phil Jagielka has admitted that Everton need to start picking up points quickly to get their season back on track.

The Blues have been out of sorts for the past couple of months, and Roberto Martinez's side are currently 12th in the Premier League.

The England centre-back told the Liverpool Echo: "We're not where we want to be. We need to pick up some points.

"We've had a tough run and still have some tough couple of games coming up now. Leicester is now looking pretty similar to the Crystal Palace game at the end of last month.

"It was a very important game and it definitely puts a little bit more added pressure on those games because of how close you are in relation to points to the team you are playing against."

The Toffees travel to face Young Boys in Switzerland when their Europa League campaign resumes on Thursday.
