Martin Petrov completes Espanyol move

Bolton Wanderers winger Martin Petrov signs a contract until the end of the season with Espanyol.

Martin Petrov has sealed his transfer from Bolton Wanderers to La Liga side Espanyol.

Earlier today Bolton manager Dougie Freedman revealed that the 33-year-old had held a series of discussions with the Barcelona-based club over a switch.

Those talks proved to be a success and the Bulgarian has signed a contract until the end of the season.

The move has seen Petrov reunited with coach Javier Aguirre, who was in charge when Petrov had a two-year stint with Atletico Madrid up until 2007.

He will be presented to the media at the club's training ground later this evening.
