Eibar won their first home match since the opening day of the season with a comfortable 5-2 victory over Almeria this afternoon to climb into the top half of La Liga.
The home side took the lead early on just after the two-minute mark when Federico Piovaccari cut inside onto his left foot and stroked home into the far corner.
It was two in the 21st minute when Saul Berjon's shot from the left side of the area took a deflection to help the ball past Ruben and into the Almeria net.
Raul Albentosa made it three 10 minutes later when he headed home Berjon's corner from close range.
Almeria gave their hopes of an unlikely fightback a lift by pulling one goal back shortly before half time through Fernando Soriano, who stabbed home from close range.
They weren't able to mount a second-half comeback, though, and Eibar restored their three-goal advantage in the 57th minute when Raul Navas headed home at the back post.
It was five 15 minutes from time when half-time substitute Ander Capa rifled home from just outside the area - the first time that Almeria have conceded a goal from outside the box this season.
Edgar scored the seventh and final goal and although it was a consolation, it was the best of the lot as he swept a first-time volley at the back post into the roof of the net.
It is the first time in their history that Eibar have won consecutive top-flight games. They are now ninth in the table, while Almeria remain just above the bottom three.
