Goals from Leigh Griffiths and Stefan Johansen help Celtic cruise past Dundee and into the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.

Goals from Leigh Griffiths and Stefan Johansen helped Celtic cruise past Dundee to reach the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

An early Griffiths header set the tone, before Johansen poked the ball home to seal the deal and stop Dundee from mounting any comeback.

Elsewhere, Hibernian hit three past Arbroath with goals from Franck Dja Djedje, Dylan McGeouch, and a Liam Gordon own goal, after Arbroath had taken the lead thanks to Keiran Stewart.

Goals from Derek Lyle and Gavin Reilly saw Championship side Queen of the South emphatically knock out Premiership team and holders St Johnstone, and Ally MacKinnon struck two minutes into injury time to force a replay between Berwick Rangers and Spartans after Paul Willis scored early on for the visitors.

Lyle Taylor scored on his second debut for Partick Thistle but couldn't end up on the winning side, after goals from Greg Tansey and Marley Watkins helped Inverness Caledonian Thistle progress to the last eight.

David McCracken and Davis Smith scored for Falkirk as they easily saw off Brechin City, Alan Trouten scoring a penalty for the visitors.

Full results: Dundee 0-2 Celtic, Falkirk 2-1 Brechin City, Hibernian 3-1 Arbroath, Partick Thistle 1-2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Queen of the South 2-0 St Johnstone, Spartans 1-1 Berwick
