Je-Vaughn Watson scored the winner as FC Dallas were 2-1 victors over DC United in their MLS clash.
The visitors should have taken the lead early on as Casey Townsend capitalised on an error from Matt Hedges to run clear on goal, but his effort hit the post and bounced wide.
Townsend was made to pay for this miss as Dallas took the lead through Jackson as he fired in from close range after latching onto Eric Hassli's pass into the penalty area.
DC almost got an equaliser as Dwayne De Rosario powered a low effort at goal which nearly sneaked into the bottom corner, but Chris Seitz was aware and managed to beat the ball away.
The visitors did score just before the break as De Rosario fired a neat free kick into the bottom corner beating the outstretched hand of Seitz.
After the break, Hassli and Blas Perez almost regained the lead for Dallas but Hassli's header went inches over the bar, while Perez saw his looped effort well saved by Joe Willis who tipped his shot past the post.
Dallas finally got their winner when Michel's left-footed corner was turned in from close range by Watson, as he scrambled the ball home to seal the victory for his side.
