Neil Warnock eyes additional firepower at Crystal Palace

Neil Warnock reveals that he intends to add some additional firepower to his squad when the transfer window reopens in January.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has targeted some additional firepower up front ahead of the reopening of the transfer window in the New Year.

The Eagles are currently one point above the relegation zone, having scored 18 goals so far this campaign.

Warnock believes that a lack of cutting edge from his strikers has cost his side at times, and is hopeful that he will be given the backing to recruit some fresh faces in January.

"I think we know we haven't got enough firepower," he told reporters. "When you look at the other teams they have all got main strikers to select from.

"I think the lads are doing as well as they can. We do need improvement in that area and we are looking to address that in January."

The Palace boss also revealed that he tried to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the summer, but Spurs opted to keep hold of the 21-year-old due to their gruelling schedule domestically and in Europe.
