Crystal Palace 'priced out of move for Burnley striker Ashley Barnes'

A report claims that Crystal Palace have missed out on Burnley striker Ashley Barnes and will now focus their attention on Khouma Babacar and Italy international Eder.

Crystal Palace have reportedly ended their interest in Ashley Barnes after being priced out of a move for the Burnley striker.

The Eagles have stepped up their search for a new forward and were looking to bring the 28-year-old to Selhurst Park before Wednesday night's cut-off point.

According to the London Evening Standard, though, Burnley have asked for a hefty fee for Barnes as he is under contract for another 18 months.

Palace will therefore focus on Fiorentina ace Khouma Babacar, it is claimed, while Eder from Inter Milan is another possible option to partner or replace Christian Benteke.

Diafra Sakho had been a target for Roy Hodgson earlier in the window, but the Senegal international joined Rennes from West Ham United on Monday morning.
