Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew hails Wilfried Zaha impact at Watford

Alan Pardew praises Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha for shelving his disappointment over being dropped and producing a game-changing cameo at Watford.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has hailed Wilfried Zaha's professionalism following his second-half cameo in Sunday's 1-0 win at Watford.

The 22-year-old winger was dropped by Pardew for the trip to Vicarage Road, but came off the bench to win the penalty which Yohan Cabaye converted on 71 minutes.

"Wilf took not starting very well and reacted in the best possible way. It was a lesson learned for him, he can't let his standards slip," the Eagles boss told Sky Sports News.

"It was a great day. Our concentration levels were very high today and our two centre-halves did a super job. There was also some really good wide play and that ended up settling the game."

Pardew's side sit sixth in the Premier League table, winning 12 points from a possible 21.
