Norway defender Brede Hangeland announces international retirement

Brede Hangeland announces his international retirement following a 12-year career with Norway.

Crystal Palace defender Brede Hangeland has called an end to his international career with Norway.

The 33-year-old went on to score four goals in 91 appearances for his country following his debut in 2001.

The centre-back had been captain of the Norwegians since 2008, skippering the team a total of 38 times.

Hangeland joined Palace earlier this summer after ending his six-year association with Fulham.
