Former Brazilian striker Rivaldo's son, Rivaldinho, joins Corinthians on a three-year contract.

Brazilian striker Rivaldinho, the son of former Barcelona attacker Rivaldo, has joined Corinthians on a three-year contract.

The 17-year-old has insisted, however, that he feels no pressure being likened to his father, who was once regarded as the best player in the world.

"I'm used to being the son of Rivaldo. It doesn't annoy me or help me at all. I'm writing my own story and he has his own. My father is my idol. We play in different positions and he always gives me good advice," Rivaldinho told reporters.

Rivaldo was the World Player of the Year in 1999.
