Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan when the January transfer window opens for business.
The 19-year-old has only just recovered from a knee operation and made his first start of the 2020-21 campaign against FC Krasnodar on Tuesday night, playing the full 90 minutes of the Champions League clash.
Gilmour could face a battle to secure regular minutes under Frank Lampard this season, though, and according to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are eyeing a loan move at the start of 2021.
The report claims that a switch to Steven Gerrard's team in the middle of the campaign could help him secure a spot in the Scotland squad for next summer's European Championships.
Gilmour represented Rangers between 2009 and 2017 before joining Chelsea, where he has made 13 first-team appearances since making his breakthrough in 2019-20.
Blues boss Lampard hailed the teenager following his display against Krasnodar on Tuesday night.
