Jose Mourinho hints at new Wayne Rooney bid

Jose Mourinho hints that Chelsea could make another bid for Wayne Rooney but will not try to disrupt him at Manchester United.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hinted that the club will continue their pursuit of Wayne Rooney.

The Blues have had two bids for the striker rejected by Manchester United so far this summer and are reported to be weighing up a third offer.

"We will try until the last day to add a new player to the squad, a striker," Mourinho told reporters.

"At this moment every striker has a club, every striker belongs to somebody and I don't think it's ethical that I name players that belong to other clubs.

"We don't try, like many clubs do, to go around and try to influence players to behave in a certain way. If we have to make a bid, we will make it in an official way. We don't speak to players, we speak to clubs."

Mourinho oversaw his Chelsea side win their opening Premier League match this afternoon.
