Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has played down speculation linking his club with a loan move for Oriol Romeu.
It has been reported that the Trotters are owed a Chelsea player on loan this summer as a part of the deal that saw Gary Cahill join the Blues during the January transfer window.
While Coyle has refused to rule out the possibility of his side acquiring a Chelsea player over the coming weeks, he dismissed claims that Spanish midfielder Romeu was on his wishlist.
"I'm sure the stuff with Romeu came up because of the relationship we have with Chelsea but sometimes people put two and two together and make five," he told the Bolton News.
"There is no doubt that if there are players available on loan from Chelsea that Bolton Wanderers would be in the mix but there's got to be an understanding of the level, depending on the player."
Romeu joined Chelsea last summer form Barcelona.
