Oriol Romeu hopes for big impact at Chelsea next season

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has assured Chelsea fans he will stay and fight for his place next season.

Oriol Romeu has shrugged off rumours that he is set to leave Stamford Bridge and said he is ready to fight for his Chelsea future.

Romeu made just eight appearances in 2012 for the Blues but has moved to assure Chelsea fans he is here to stay.

"I have a contract, and my dream is to play," the Spain U21 international told goal.com.

"I demonstrated to myself that I could play early in the season, and I think I'm able. Hopefully next season I will enjoy more minutes on the pitch.

"For me, the season at Chelsea has been spectacular, especially the achievement of winning the Champions League. It's something I always dreamed of as a child."

Romeu moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona in August 2011 and played a total of 24 times in all competitions last season.
