Chelsea will block any attempt from central defender Andreas Christensen to leave the club in January, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly block any attempt from Andreas Christensen to leave the club in January.

Christensen, 22, made 40 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea during the 2017-18 campaign.

The Denmark international has not made a single Premier League appearance for the Blues this term, however, with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Christensen's father, who is also his agent, claimed last month that the defender will leave permanently in January unless the situation changes.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will not allow Christensen to depart 'under any circumstances' in the winter transfer window.

The centre-back, who has made six first-team appearances this season, only signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea in January.
