Chelsea reportedly turn down an approach from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Albania international Armando Broja.

Chelsea have reportedly turned down an approach from Wolverhampton Wanderers for striker Armando Broja.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil is keen to bring in a new forward before Thursday's deadline following the recent departures of Fabio Silva and Sasa Kalajdzic.

Silva completed a loan switch to Scottish Premiership side Rangers, while Kalajdzic will spend the remainder of the season in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Wolves on the lookout for attacking reinforcement, it was recently reported that they have identified Broja as their top target.

However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have turned down a formal approach from Wolves for the Albania international.

Wolves were hoping to sign Broja on loan for the rest of the season, but the terms of their proposal failed to meet Chelsea's demands.

Previous speculation has suggested that the Blues want to include an obligation-to-buy clause in the region of £35m.

The clause would effectively guarantee Chelsea a future sale of one of their academy products, which would help them meet the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

However, Wolves may find it difficult to meet such demands due to their ongoing concerns over meeting Financial Fair Play regulations.

While it remains to be seen whether Wolves return to the negotiating table, they could face competition from fellow Premier League club Fulham.

The Cottagers are reportedly planning to make a fresh loan bid for Broja after seeing their initial offer rejected by Chelsea over the weekend.

Fulham boss Marco Silva is keen to add to his current forward options of Raul Jimenez, Rodrigo Muniz and Carlos Vinicius.

Broja, who has a contract until June 2028, has made 19 competitive appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
