Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Chelsea and Liverpool are the two Premier League clubs interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
European champions Bayern started talks with the France international's camp over the weekend regarding a summer transfer.
However, the centre-back's agent revealed on Monday that no agreement is yet in place and a couple of English teams remain interested in signing his client, who has a €42.5m (£37.45m) release clause in his contract.
Bayern remain the frontrunners to sign Upamecano, but Rummenigge accepts that his side must first see off some strong competition for the 22-year-old's signature.
"There are two other clubs interested in Dayot," he told Sky Deutschland.
"When clubs like Chelsea or Liverpool are interested in him, it shows what qualities the player has."
Bayern are reportedly holding off from making an official offer for Upamecano until David Alaba confirms his intention to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
