Alvaro Morata is dropped to the bench for Chelsea's Premier League clash with champions-elect Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Alvaro Morata has been dropped to the bench for Chelsea's Premier League clash with champions-elect Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

The Spaniard, who has 10 Premier League goals to his name this season, has now started just one of Chelsea's last five games as top-scorer Eden Hazard is once again selected to lead the line for the defending champions.

Hazard has scored four goals and assisted four more in his last seven appearances against Man City, and will be supported by Willian and Pedro, the latter of whom replaces Morata in the starting lineup.

That is one of only two changes made by the visitors from last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, with N'Golo Kante also missing out and being replaced in the team by Cesc Fabregas.

Man City also make two changes to the team which beat Arsenal 3-0 on Thursday night as captain Vincent Kompany and Danilo drop to the bench to be replaced by Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Kyle Walker has passed a late fitness test to feature following a calf injury, but Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho remain sidelined while Fabian Delph serves the final game of his three-match ban.

Sergio Aguero starts again for City as he goes in search of his 200th goal for the club, and he has an encouraging recent record against Chelsea having scored five times in his last four league meetings with the Blues.

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Laporte, Otamendi, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Gundogan, Silva; Bernardo, Aguero, Sane
Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Kompany, Stones, Jesus, Toure, Foden

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Alonso; Willian, Hazard, Pedro
