Fernando Torres says that he is ready to start repaying the £50m that Chelsea paid Liverpool for his services.

Fernando Torres has admitted that he lost faith in his ability during his barren spell in front of goal.

The 28-year-old has endured the most difficult period of his career since making the switch from Anfield to Stamford Bridge, finding the net just 12 times.

Torres said that Chelsea's Champions League victory over Bayern Munich has rekindled his desire and has promised Blues fans that the best is yet to come.

"There were times where I lost hope and that has never happened to me before," the Spaniard told his official website. "It's the worst feeling in the world when you love your profession and I became the player I hate.

"Luckily it is part of the past. Now all I have in mind is to fulfil dreams. I fulfilled a dream [by winning the Champions League] and I'd say it's a very happy moment but I demand more.

"The best is yet to come. Now we have to keep dreaming."

Torres's £50m transfer from Liverpool is a record transfer fee for a British club.
