Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay insists that Fernando Torres has a future at Stamford Bridge after the Spaniard hinted at a possible exit.

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has insisted that Fernando Torres will become the Blues' leading striker following the departure of Didier Drogba.

The Spaniard launched an attack on the London club just hours after Chelsea clinched their first ever Champions League trophy, stating that he had experienced some of the worst moments of his career at Stamford Bridge.

"We've got Fernando Torres," said Gourlay. "And Fernando Torres is the man that we will go forward with and Fernando Torres will score us the goals.

"We have no doubt that Fernando Torres is a world-class centre-forward and Fernando Torres will score goals for Chelsea."

Meanwhile, Drogba, who announced his departure from the Blues on Tuesday following an eight-year stint at the club, is believed to be in talks with Shanghai Shenhua over a free transfer.
