Frank Leboeuf believes that Chelsea have put their "full trust" in Fernando Torres by not signing another striker so far this summer.
Following Didier Drogba's departure to Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, Spanish frontman Torres is the most high-profile centre-forward left at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself in a blue shirt since joining from Liverpool for £50m in January 2011, having scored just seven Premier League goals from 46 outings.
However, former Blues defender Leboeuf has exclusively told Sports Mole that he expects Torres to rediscover the form that once made him one of the most feared frontman in the world.
"I think the club wanted to show to Torres that they have full trust in his talent," he said. "After Drogba decided to go they didn't want to buy a new player to show him that he has full confidence from the club. I think it's nice.
"Physiologically it will help him and if he starts scoring goals at the beginning of the season everybody will be happy to see the rebirth of Torres."
