Chelsea winger Eden Hazard admits that he is unsure whether manager Antonio Conte plans to use him as a false nine again in the future.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has admitted that he is unsure whether he will be used in a false nine role in the future.

The Belgian has previously stated his preference to play as a winger, but manager Antonio Conte again selected him to lead the line ahead of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud during Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Hazard was critical of his side's tactics in that match, but insists that he will continue to "give everything" if he is deployed as the furthest man forward again.

When asked whether he would fulfil the role in the future, Hazard told Belgian outlet HLN: "I don't know. When the manager plays me up front I try to give everything.

"But we haven't played a good game and for me personally it's difficult to play a good game when you only touch the ball three times. I think that when we had the ball we should have done better. We made some bad decisions too.

"There weren't a lot of opportunities. We had a few situations where we could possibly create something but we didn't. If we'd taken these opportunities, we could maybe have scored a goal. But we played against Man City. It's difficult."

Chelsea, who have now lost their last two matches, will look to return to winning ways at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
