Didier Drogba has revealed that the Chelsea players and staff encouraged him to sign for MLS side Montreal Impact.
The Ivorian agreed to join the North American club on Monday after being released by the Blues.
The 37-year-old, who was mobbed by fans upon arriving in Canada, also revealed that former Italy captain Alessandro Nesta gave his approval following his short spell at Montreal.
"I spoke to Nesta and I know he had a great time here and Montreal is French speaking, while the president also had a big influence," Drogba told reporters.
"The Chelsea players and staff spoke very well about the training centre - that was very important."
Drogba, who has played in France, England, China and Turkey during his career, could make his MLS debut against New York Red Bulls next week.
