Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo claims that winning games will help his chances of becoming the Blues' permanent manager.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has hinted that he may take the Blues job on a permanent basis but has insisted that victories are necessary to keep his position at the club.

The former Premier League champions are in the hunt for a new manager to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas last month.

When asked what it would take to secure the full-time job, Di Matteo said: "It's a fantastic club, but I need to win games. It's a results business and that's all that matters."

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been known to be ruthless in his dismissal of managers but Di Matteo is believed to be a genuine contender for the role, especially if the 41-year-old can lead the Blues to their first Champions League trophy.
