Antonio Conte fined £8,000 by FA for misconduct charge

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte avoids a touchline ban for his sending-off against Swansea City last week, instead being fined £8,000 by the Football Association.

The Football Association has fined Antonio Conte £8,000 for his behaviour during Chelsea's meeting with Swansea City in the Premier League last week.

Conte accepted the misconduct charge after being sent to the Stamford Bridge stands by referee Neil Swarbrick during his side's slender 1-0 victory seven days ago.

However, the former Italy and Juventus boss has avoided any sort of touchline ban for the incident, which saw him punished for protesting the awarding of a Swansea corner during the first half.

Speaking after the match, Conte told reporters: "I was frustrated at the decision. I think it's right to accept and to pay the fine. I want to respect this decision and also to pay this fine."

Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table, 11 points behind leaders Manchester City.
